Youth & Adult Mentoring

Two critical anchors of an effective program aimed to move individuals to self-sufficiency are STRUCTURE and CHOICE. We utilize a structured curriculum that's methodically implemented. We emphasize that the individual always has a choice. With each choice, comes consequences-either desirable or undesirable.

We provide a structured curriculum consisting of 20 sessions. Curriculums are tailored to the needs of the specific group. Sessions are hands on activities with fun games and prizes. Some activities are: 1. Getting Acquainted - Designed to break the ice, establish connections and create a friendly environment. 2. Who Am I -Designed to allow participants to reflect, acknowledge, and accept their past, embrace the present, and focus on making choices that will improve outcomes now and in the future. 3. Communication Skills - Mock Interviews and Presentations. 4. Community Service - Such as visiting a nursing home. This activity allows us to demonstrate what we discussed in our session on Kindness. The adult's curriculum is similar to the youths with some deviation that focus on parent involvement and personal development. The objective here is to provide quality experiences.

Mentoring Program Development

Pathways to Improved Outcomes
With this approach, we focus on the parent and the child at the same time. This approach is family driven. An assessment is administered to gain an understanding of the family's attitude, interest, and level of desire to improve their quality of life. If the desire is there, the next step is to assist the family in devising a Family Strengthening Plan with goals and action steps. The mentor (Family Strengthening Coach) take an active role in providing guidance and support in helping the family achieve their goals. The objective here is to guide families in creating better outcomes.
We provide consultation and start up service to individuals and organizations interested in implementing our program. Our support is extended to organizations within and outside the state of Oklahoma. The objective here is to increase organizations' capacity to invest in their communities.
